- Vocal cord lesion
Vocal cord lesions, also known as vocal fold lesions, are benign (noncancerous) growths that include nodules, polyps, and cysts. Lesions on these vocal cords are a common cause of voice disorders. Most of the time problems related with vocal cords can lead to many different symptoms, including changes in the voice, difficulty with breathing, exercising or eating.
- Early cancer of vocal cord
Prognosis of Cancer of the larynx (Laryngeal cancer, Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Larynx) Laryngeal cancer is a curable disease. The symptoms of laryngeal cancer depend on where in the larynx the tumour is located. Cancer on the vocal cords can often be detected early because the main symptom is hoarseness.
- Vocal cord paralysis
Vocal fold paresis controls all muscles of the larynx except for the cricothyroid muscle. It is also known as recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis or vocal fold paralysis, is the medical term describing an injury to one or both recurrent laryngeal nerves (RLNs). Treatment of vocal cord paralysis depends on the cause, the severity of symptoms and the time from the onset of symptoms.
- Laryngotracheal airway problem
The abnormal narrowing of the central air passageways is known as Laryngotracheal stenosis. Laryngeal stenosis is a congenital or acquired narrowing of the airway that may affect the supraglottis, glottis, and/or subglottis.
- Deafness
The complete inability to hear sound is referred as Deafness. Deafness and hearing loss have many causes and can occur at any age. A congenital defect, injury, disease, certain medication, exposure to loud noise or age-related wear and tear can cause deafness. It can be overcome by a surgery or implanting a hearing device.
- Parotid and Thyroid Tumours
Invasion of the parotid gland and the great cervical veins from a thyroid cancer is extremely rare, and is mostly detected at autopsy. Salivary gland cancer & thyroid cancer are often grouped together as head & neck cancers. Differentiated thyroid carcinoma is the most common endocrine malignant tumor.
- Nasal polyps
The soft, painless, noncancerous growth on the lining of your nasal passages or sinuses is known as Nasal Polyps. They hang down like teardrops or grapes. Some of the causes of them are chronic inflammation due to infection, allergies, drug sensitivity or immune disorders. It can be treated with corticosteroids, other medication or surgery.
- Sleep apnea
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person's breathing is interrupted during sleep. Some of the symptoms include snoring loudly and feeling tired even after a full night's sleep. Lifestyle changes, such as weight loss and the use of a breathing assistance device at night can help a person to overcome with sleep apnea.
- Vertigo
Vertigo is a sensation of spinning dizziness. If you have severe vertigo, your symptoms may be constant and last for several days, making normal life very difficult. Whenever a person feels as if they or the objects around them are moving when they are not is the most common sign of vertigo. In many cases, vertigo goes away without any treatment.
