NAVI MUMBAI: A 100-bed cancer hospital will be inaugurated in Sanpada on Wednesday. The 12-storeyed Mahatma Phule Charitable Trust General Hospital is equipped with advanced PET scan machine, making detection easy. Twenty children diagnosed with cancer will be treated free of charge every month. Dr. Prince Surana, the hospital’s managing trustee, said, “To extend the benefits of the new scan technology, testing will be offered at a nominal rate. There will be a 20-bed intensive care unit and a three-bed isolation unit as well.“
The management has ensured that the hospital is empanelled with government insurance schemes. “We have seen that parents struggle to get the right treatment for their cancer-ridden children. This was one of the main reasons for keeping it accessible and affordable,“ added Dr. Surana.
